“WHY IS MY SON WEARING THIS DRAGON NECKLACE?” — BILLIONAIRE DISCOVERS THAT HIS OWN BROTHER AMBULANCED HIS SON FOR THE INHERITANCE!
Don Rafael is the richest man in the city, but he is also the saddest. Ten years ago, his only son, “Uno,” disappeared while he was in the park with his nanny.
The only memory left to Don Rafael is a photo of the baby wearing the Golden Dragon Pendant—a custom-made necklace made of pure gold and with red ruby eyes. There is only one such necklace in the world.
“Brother, enough searching,” his sister Selina said as she rubbed his back. “It’s been ten years. Maybe Uno is dead. Let’s just accept that my son Drake will inherit your company. Your empire would be a waste if no one carries it on.”
Selina seems kind in front of Don Rafael, but behind his back, she is greedy and spiteful. She wants to get all of her sister’s wealth for herself and her son’s luxury.
One day, Don Rafael visited a site inspection of a newly built mall on the edge of a squatter area. The sun was hot and dusty. As he walked with the engineers, he saw a commotion in the distance.
A boy, thin, disheveled, and covered in soot on his face, was being beaten by three older boys.
“That iron you picked up is mine! Beggar!” the bullies shouted as they pushed the boy into the mud.
“Don’t! I worked hard for this so I could eat! This is mine!” the disheveled boy shouted as he hugged a piece of scrap metal.
In the middle of the scuffle, a bully pulled the boy’s clothes. A necklace hidden inside his dirty shirt came out. The sunlight hit it and it sparkled very brightly.
Don Rafael was stunned. His eyes widened. The shape… A Golden Dragon with red eyes.
Don Rafael ran quickly. “Stop! Get away from him!”
The bullies ran away in fear. The young merchant was left behind, trembling with fear and wiping the blood from his lips.
Don Rafael knelt down and tremblingly held the boy’s necklace. His heart felt like it was going to explode with excitement. The red ruby in the dragon’s eye… there was no doubt, this was Uno’s necklace.
“Kid…” Don Rafael asked harshly. “W-What’s your name? Where did you get this? Did you steal this?”
The boy shook his head and backed away. “H-No! My name is B-Boyet. I don’t have a mother and father. Grandpa Kiko, who found me in the trash, said I wore this when I was a baby. This is my only treasure.”
Don Rafael didn’t waste any time. He took Boyet to the best hospital for a DNA Test. While Boyet ate delicious food for the first time, Don Rafael’s private investigator secretly investigated.
They found Selina’s former driver who was hiding in the province and suffering. Because of his conscience and fear, he immediately confessed.
“Sir Rafael… Please forgive me,” the driver cried. “Ma’am Selina… She paid me a lot to throw the baby in the river before. She wanted Uno to disappear so that Drake could be the heir. But I couldn’t kill a child, so I just left him in the trash dump where anyone could see him.”
Don Rafael was very angry. His own blood relative… the brother he trusted, was a demon who destroyed his family.
The DNA Result came back: 99.9% POSITIVE. Boyet was Uno.
The next day, Don Rafael called an “Emergency Family Dinner” at his mansion. Selina and her son Drake were there, overjoyed because they thought the transfer of the inheritance was about to be announced.
“I have a surprise,” Don Rafael said seriously while sitting in the capital. “I have found the heir to the company.”
Selina smiled and raised her glass. “Really, brother? Finally! Drake really deserves it.”
The big door opened. Boyet (Uno) entered, but now clean, wearing an expensive suit, and with a Dragon Pendant hanging around his neck.
Selina’s eyes widened. She turned pale and dropped her wine glass. BROKEN!
“W-Who is that?!” Selina shouted, clearly nervous.
“Doesn’t she look familiar to you, Selina?” Don Rafael asked coldly. “She’s the baby you threw in the trash ten years ago. The child you thought was dead.”
“T-That’s not true! You’re a liar! She’s dead!” Selina shouted.
“How could you say she’s dead, Auntie?” Uno asked bravely. “If you had nothing to do with my disappearance?”
Don Rafael held out the driver’s video confession and the DNA result in front of them.
“Selina, because of your greed, you deprived me of my child! You let her grow up selling trash, starving, and being beaten, while you indulged in my wealth!”
The police entered the dining room.
“Selina Go, you are under arrest for Kidnapping and Attempted Murder.”
“Brother! Don’t! I’m your sister! Have mercy!” Selina pleaded as the police handcuffed her.
“I don’t have a snake sister,” Don Rafael replied coldly. “Family doesn’t betray.”
When Selina and Drake were released, Don Rafael hugged his son tightly.
“Forgive me, son, if I took too long,” the father cried. “You’ll never go hungry again.”
“It’s okay, Papa. The important thing is, I’m here,” Uno replied.
From being a garbage collector, Uno returned to his true throne. And the Dragon Pendant became a symbol not of wealth, but of the truth that evil can never overwhelm.
THE END.
