2 MINUTES BEFORE LIFE IMPRISONMENT VERDICT FOR AN INNOCENT DRIVER — THE ENTIRE COURT STOPS AS THE OLD JANITOR SCREAMS AND REVEALS THE GARBAGE HE WAS HOLDING

Carlo is a loyal family driver. He stands before the Judge, bowed, and crying. He is the prime suspect in the theft of his employer Donya Rebecca’s “Blue Diamond Necklace.” The necklace is worth 50 Million Pesos.

The evidence against Carlo is strong.

He is the only one who had access to Donya Rebecca’s room that night.

CCTV footage shows him leaving the room as if he was hiding something in his pocket.

And the witness: Donya Rebecca herself, crying on the witness stand, saying she trusted Carlo but he robbed her.

“Your Honor,” Donya Rebecca cried. “I educated his children. I gave him a bonus. And this is what he will do in return? He stole my mother’s inheritance! Lock him up! I want him to rot in jail!”

Carlo’s lawyer was helpless. They had no counter-evidence to present.

“The court has reviewed all the evidence,” the Judge said seriously. “Carlo Dizon, stand for the verdict.”

Carlo was shaking. He was thinking about his wife and children. How are they? I am innocent!

The Judge raised his Gavel.

“This court has found Carlo Dizon GUILTY in the case of Qualified Theft and is hereby sentenced to—”

BLLLAG!!!

The courtroom door swung open.

“STOP THE VERDICT!”

All 200 people inside—lawyers, police, media, and family—turned around.

The person who entered was not a police officer. Not a lawyer.

He was Mang Karding. The 60-year-old Janitor/Cleaner at Donya Rebecca’s mansion. He was panting, sweating, and carrying a black garbage bag that smelled bad.

“Who are you?!” the Judge shouted. “Guards! Take that guy out! Contempt of court!”

“Your Honor! You seem to have mercy on me!” Mang Karding shouted, clinging to the railing. “I am the janitor at the mansion! You need to see something! The truth is in this garbage!”

Donya Rebecca turned pale. He stood up. “Your Honor! That old man is crazy! Let him go! What he is carrying stinks!”

The Judge looked at Mang Karding. He saw the determination in the old man’s eyes.

“I will give you two minutes,” the Judge said. “Put that down.”

Mang Karding walked to the center. He put the garbage bag down on the Clerk of Court’s table.

“This morning,” Mang Karding said as he opened the bag. “Donya Rebecca ordered me to throw away the sanitary napkins and tissues in her CR. She said to burn them immediately. Don’t let the garbage truck pass by.”

The people murmured. Disgusting, they thought.

“But Your Honor,” Karding continued. “I was surprised. Because a tissue package full of ketchup (which was supposed to be blood) is very heavy. Since I’m stingy, I checked to see if any coins had been thrown away.”

Mang Karding slowly opened a bloody pile of tissues and cotton from the bag.

Amidst the dirt and stench… something sparkled.

A Blue Diamond Necklace.

All 200 people gasped. Media cameras flashed.

“The necklace!” Carlo’s lawyer shouted.

“Your Honor!” Mang Karding explained. “Carlo didn’t steal it! Donya Rebecca hid it in her own trash can to make it look like it was missing! I heard her talking to the Insurance Company last night. She wants the 50 Million insurance money because she’s bankrupt! And she made Carlo her fall guy!”

Everyone looked at Donya Rebecca.

“H-that’s not true!” Rebecca shouted, but she was clearly shaking. “Carlo stole it! He just put it back in the trash can!”

“Liar!” Mang Karding shouted. “There’s CCTV in the mansion that shows Carlo hasn’t come back since he was arrested! How could he put it in the trash can this morning if he’s in jail?!”

Silence.

The Judge realized the truth. It was impossible for Carlo to put the necklace in the trash can this morning because he was in police custody.

The only one with access to Donya Rebecca’s CR… was Donya Rebecca.

The Judge’s Gavel fell.

“Order in the court!”

The Judge looked at Donya Rebecca sharply.

“Donya Rebecca, because of this Physical Evidence obtained in your possession (via your trash), and the attempted fraud in the court… I am overturning the verdict.”

The Judge turned to Carlo.

“Carlo Dizon… you are ACQUITTED (Acquitted). You are free to go.”

Carlo’s family screamed. Carlo hugged Mang Karding. “Thank you, Tay Karding! Thank you!”

“Guards,” the Judge ordered while pointing at Donya Rebecca. “Arrest that woman for Perjury, Insurance Fraud, and Planting of Evidence.”

“No! You can’t arrest me! I’m Donya!” Rebecca shouted as she was handcuffed in front of the cameras.

In the end, the “trash” that Donya Rebecca threw away turned out to be the key to freedom.

of the innocent and became the bars of his own prison.

Everyone learned that day: There is no stench that will not be reeked of, and no wealth can cover up the truth—especially if there is an honest janitor willing to dig for justice.
