HE LEFT HIS WIFE BECAUSE “NOBODY HAS ARRIVED” AND IS IN DEBT — SEVEN YEARS LATER, HE IS THE ONE BEGGING IN FRONT OF A “MYSTERY INVESTOR” WHO CLAIMS TO BE HIS EX-WIFE

Carlo is a man with high ambitions. He is fed up with his life with his wife Rina. They live in a small apartment, deep in debt, and Rina only sells food online to survive.

“I don’t want it anymore, Rina,” Carlo said as he packed. “I’m tired of eating dry food and eggs! I’m tired of hiding from debt collectors. There’s no future for you. You’re a burden on my dreams.”

“Carlo, don’t do this,” Rina cried, kneeling and hugging her husband’s leg. “We’ll help each other. Just be patient. I love you so much.”

Carlo pushed Rina away.

“Love is inedible!” Carlo shouted. “I’m leaving. I’m going with Veronica. He’s rich, has a car, and can give me the life I deserve. Don’t look for me anymore.”

Carlo left, leaving Rina in tears, penniless, and heartbroken on the floor of their cramped house.

Seven Years passed.

Carlo’s life wasn’t going well. Veronica also left him when her family’s business went bankrupt. Now, Carlo is a struggling Real Estate Agent. He needs to sell a Luxury Condo today or his boss will fire him.

His client is a mysterious CEO from New York who is looking for investment in the Philippines.

Carlo waited in the lobby of the Sky High Tower. He was very nervous.

“Good morning, Mr. Carlo,” said the secretary. “Madam CEO is coming.”

The elevator opened.

A woman wearing a Red Power Suit, wearing Cartier glasses, and carrying a Hermes Birkin Bag walked out. Every step she took smelled of victory.

Carlo’s jaw dropped. His eyes widened.

This woman… the woman full of diamonds and authority… was Rina.

“R-Rina?!” Carlo exclaimed.

Rina stopped. She took off her glasses and looked Carlo from head to toe. There was no surprise on her face. She just looked cold.

“It’s Ms. Villareal,” Rina corrected. “And you must be the agent showing me the penthouse?”

“O-yes… I am…” Carlo stammered. “Rina… is that really you? That’s awesome! You’re so rich! What happened?”

“I worked hard, Carlo,” Rina replied as she walked to the unit. “When you left me, that was my motivation. I worked as a DH in America, studied at night, built a business, and now, I am the owner of an Import-Export Empire.”

As they toured the penthouse, Carlo couldn’t focus on selling. All he could think about was how to get Rina back.

“Rina,” Carlo suddenly said. “You know, I’m sorry. I think about you every day. Veronica? That’s nothing. She just flirted with me. I really love you. Can we start over? Look, fate brought us here.”

Carlo held Rina’s hand.

Rina immediately withdrew her hand and wiped it with alcohol, as if there was dirt on it.

“Fate?” Rina laughed bitterly. “Carlo, this is not fate. I chose your agency because I knew you worked here. I want to see where you are now.”

“Really?” Carlo said excitedly. “Does that mean we still have hope?”

Rina looked at Carlo seriously.

“Carlo, look at this Penthouse. Worth 80 Million Pesos. I will buy it right now, cash.”

“Wow! Really, babe? My commission is huge!”

“But,” Rina added. “I will only buy it under one condition.”

“Anything! Any condition!”

“I want to change the agent,” Rina said bluntly. “I don’t like agents who leave me hanging when the situation is difficult. I don’t like people who only look at the money. I want to give the commission to another agent who is more deserving than you.”

Carlo was depressed. “Rina… don’t be like this. I need money…”

“When I needed companionship, Carlo, where were you?” Rina asked. “You said I was a burden. You said I had no future.”

Rina pulled out a check.

“I bought this unit for myself. To prove that the woman you left in the mud is capable of buying the heaven you dreamed of.”

Rina turned her back on Carlo.

“You can leave now. The guard will escort you out.”

Carlo was left in the middle of the expensive room—no sale, no commission, and most of all, full of regret because the “worthless” wife he had thrown away before was the gold he had not valued.
