REAL CHILDREN HELPED THEIR ADOPTED BROTHER TO DRIVE OUT TO SINGLE THE INHERITANCE — BUT WHEN THE ATTORNEY OPENED THE ‘LAST WILL AND TESTAMENT’, EVERYONE WAS SHOCKED BECAUSE THE ENTIRE WEALTH WENT TO THE ADOPTED BROTHER FOR A REASON THAT CRUSHED THEM
Don Gustavo is a billionaire with four children. The three are his real blood relatives: Rico, Tessa, and Anton. The youngest, Ana, is an adopted child he got from an orphanage when she was a baby.
When Don Gustavo was still alive, the three real children openly discriminated against Ana.
“You’re just an adopted child,” Rico would always tease. “Don’t act like you’re Daddy’s child. You were just picked up.”
When Don Gustavo fell seriously ill (Stage 4 Cancer), the three real children became busy—not taking care of him, but dividing the wealth.
“The Resort in Boracay is mine,” Tessa said while her father was in the hospital.
“As long as the Shipping Lines are mine,” Anton replied.
Ana is the only one by her father’s side. She changes his diapers, she feeds him, and she wipes up his vomit and feces. The real children? They only visit to sign checks.
Don Gustavo died.
On the day of the funeral, before the old man could be buried, the three siblings were already in a mess in the mansion.
“Ana!” Rico shouted. “Get your things out! Now that Daddy is dead, there’s no one here to protect you!”
“Brother, Daddy is just going to die…” Ana cried. “Can we just mourn first?”
“There’s no mourning!” Tessa replied. “Let’s divide the wealth. And you? You have no part. You’re not related by blood. So get out before we drag your rags to the guard!”
They dragged Ana out of the gate. It was raining. She had nothing but a small bag of clothes with her.
“Don’t ever come back, you scum!” Anton shouted as he closed the gate.
Ana was left outside, soaking wet, crying, and with nowhere to go.
The next day, Attorney Magsaysay, the father’s personal lawyer, arrived. He summoned all the children for the Reading of the Will.
The Attorney sent Ana back to the mansion.
“Why are you here?” Tessa snapped. “It’s just a waste of time. He doesn’t have any inheritance.”
“Sit down,” the Attorney ordered seriously. “Don Gustavo left a video message before he died. This will dictate the division.”
The Attorney turned on the TV. Don Gustavo’s face appeared. Very thin, lying in a hospital bed, and having difficulty speaking.
“To my children…” the old man began in the video. “I know that by the time you watch this, I will be gone.”
Rico grinned. Here it is. I will take over the company.
“Rico, Tessa, Anton…” the father said. “You are my flesh and blood. I gave you everything. Expensive cars, education abroad, luxury. But when I was dying… where were you?”
Rico’s smile disappeared.
“When I was vomiting blood, where were you? In Paris, on vacation. On Christmas when I was alone in the hospital, where were you? At the party.”
The room fell silent.
“But there was one person who didn’t leave me,” the video continued. “Ana. My adopted child. She who has no blood ties to me, but she made me feel how to be a father. She cleaned up my mess without feeling disgusted. She stayed up late by my side.”
Ana cried while watching the video.
“So, here’s my decision,” Don Gustavo said. “Because wealth shouldn’t go to heartless people…”
The Attorney produced a document.
“I am disinheriting Rico, Tessa, and Anton. You three are disinherited due to ‘Maltreatment and Abandonment of Parents’.”
Tessa went crazy. “THAT’S NOT POSSIBLE! WE ARE CHILDREN!”
“And all my assets—the company, the lands, the mansion, and the 5 Billion Pesos in cash…”
Don Gustavo looked at the camera and smiled.
“…I bequeath in full to my only true child in my heart… to ANA.”
“Ana, my child, don’t let them oppress you. It’s all yours. You’re their Boss now.”
The video played.
Silence.
Rico broke the silence. “You fooled Daddy! You made him sign when he wasn’t in his right mind!”
“You’re wrong, Rico,” replied Attorney Magsaysay. “Your Daddy is in his right mind. There’s a medical certificate and video evidence. And your disinheritance is legal because you abandoned him.”
The Attorney turned to Ana.
“Ma’am Ana,” said the lawyer, bowing in respect. “You’re the owner of this house now. What do you want to do to your guests?”
Ana looked at the three siblings who had kicked her out yesterday. Now, they were the ones turning pale.
“Ana! Siblings!” Tessa approached, suddenly becoming polite. “I’m sorry! You know we’re just stressed, right? Let’s just split up!”
“Yes, Ana,” Anton said. “We are family!”
Ana wiped away her tears. She stood up straight. She remembered how they had dragged her through the rain.
“Family?” Ana asked. “When you threw me out yesterday in the rain, did you consider me family? When you
