SHE WAS INVITED TO A CLASS REUNION TO HELP AND HUMBLE HER — BUT EVERYONE STOPPED WHEN A HELICOPTER LANDED TO FOLLOW HER, AND THEN THEY LEARNED WHO SHE REALLY WAS
Rina was always the target of teasing in High School. Because she was the daughter of the school janitor, her wealthy classmates called her “Dugyot” and “Basahan.” The ringleader of all was Tiffany, the “Queen Bee” who did nothing but trample on Rina.
Ten years had passed. Suddenly, Rina received an invitation to the Grand Alumni Homecoming.
Her invitation read: “THEME: SERVICE STAFF UNIFORM”.
Rina knew she was being fooled. She knew the theme was Formal Wear for the others, and Tiffany just wanted to make her look stupid. They wanted her to come in a maid’s uniform so they could laugh at her again.
But instead of getting angry, Rina smiled. “Do you want a show? I’ll give you a show.”
Reunion night arrived at an exclusive garden resort.
Everyone was in gowns and tuxedos. Jewelry was sparkling. They were drinking wine.
The gate opened. Rina entered.
She was wearing an old maid uniform—a black dress with a white apron. No makeup. Flat shoes.
Upon seeing her, Tiffany and her minions burst out laughing.
“Oh my God! Look who’s here!” Tiffany shouted into the microphone. “It’s Rina! Our loyal servant! I thought you weren’t coming, but it’s a good thing you came. We’re short of a waiter. Please clear the mess on table 5.”
The entire batch laughed.
“You’re so cute, Rina!” one shouted. “Once a maid, always a maid!”
Rina didn’t move. She approached the table. She took a tray. She boarded their trip.
Tiffany approached Rina. She intentionally spilled the red wine on Rina’s apron.
“Oops! Sorry!” Tiffany laughed. “Wipe that up. Look at your dirt. You know, Rina, we thought your life had changed. But you’re still a vagabond. You don’t belong here.”
At that moment, Rina looked at her watch. 8:00 PM.
“Are you done, Tiffany?” Rina asked calmly.
“What’s done? We’re not done yet! I want you to kneel down and wipe my shoes!”
Suddenly, a strong wind blew.
DUG-DUG-DUG-DUG-DUG!
The ground shook. The tablecloths on the table were blown away. The women’s hair was messy. The noise was deafening.
From the dark sky, a Private Helicopter descended right in the middle of the garden venue. It was gold and black, and had the logo of “R.V. EMPIRE”.
The laughter stopped. Tiffany grabbed her gown.
“Who is that?! Why is there a helicopter?!” the guests shouted.
The helicopter door opened. Four men in black suits and ear pieces descended. They blocked the crowd.
A man who looked like a Butler descended, holding an expensive fur coat and a glittering box.
The Butler went straight to… Rina.
The Butler bowed before the “helper.”
“Madam Rina,” said the Butler. “Your flight to Paris for Fashion Week is ready. The Board of Directors is waiting for you.”
Tiffany was stunned. “M-madam?!”
Rina slowly removed her apron.
Underneath the maid’s uniform, she was wearing a Custom-Made Chanel Dress full of Swarovski crystals. She removed the hair clip and her long, shiny hair fell down.
The Butler opened the box and put a necklace made of diamonds on Rina.
The “maid” from earlier looked like a Queen.
Rina turned to Tiffany.
“Tiffany,” said Rina. Her voice was no longer weak, but full of power. “You said, I don’t belong here? You’re right.”
Rina looked around the resort.
“I’m not the right person for this party. Because… I own this Resort. I bought it yesterday just to make sure the service is good.”
Tiffany’s jaw dropped.
“And you,” Rina pointed at Tiffany. “Your Daddy works at R.V. Empire, right? My company. Please tell him to come by my office tomorrow. We’ll talk about why his son is so rude.”
“Rina… w-wait! Best friend!” Tiffany stammered, turning pale.
Rina walked towards the helicopter. The wind from the propeller made Tiffany’s and the bullies’ hair even more messy.
Before boarding, Rina turned around one last time.
“Enjoy the party. The food is free. After all, I’m used to feeding dogs.”
Rina boarded. The helicopter flew upward, leaving her classmates gaping, embarrassed, and remorseful as they watched the departure of the woman they called a rag, now at the peak of success.
