“HE SOLD EVERYTHING TO MAKE HER CHILDREN FINISH — AFTER 20 YEARS, THEY CAME WEARING PILOT UNIFORMS, AND TAKE HIM TO A PLACE HE NEVER EXPECTED.”
Aling Teresa, 56 years old, is a widow.
She has only two children — Marco and Paolo.
Since her husband passed away in a construction accident, she has become the father and mother of the family.
No business, no property — only a small house and land inherited from her husband are left.
And with each passing day, she feels the hardship of being alone more and more.
But despite everything, there is only one thing she has not given up on — the dream of her children.
THE MOTHER WHO SOLD EVERYTHING FOR HER CHILDREN
Every morning, Aling Teresa wakes up to cook puto and kakanin.
Then, she goes to the market while carrying a bag.
Sweat, heat, and hunger — she endured everything just so that her children would have something to eat.

One night, while Marco and Paolo were studying under the candlelight,
Marco came over.
“Mom, I want to be a pilot someday.”
Aling Teresa smiled even though tears were welling up in her eyes.
“Okay, son. Wherever I go, I will support you.”
But he knew it wouldn’t be easy.
So when the two of them went to college, he made the hardest decision of his life —
he sold the house and land that were his only memories of his late wife.
“Mom, where are we going to live?” Paolo asked.
He just smiled, trying hard.
“Anywhere, as long as you finish.”
And that’s where the people full of patience began.
They rented a small room next to the market.
Aling Teresa, did laundry for others, sold goods, sometimes cleaned the house —
all just to pay for the children’s tuition.
THE LONELINESS OF A MOTHER WHO ENDURED
Years passed, Marco finished his aeronautics course.
Paolo followed suit — both dreamed of becoming pilots.
But because of the hardships of life, they had to work abroad to save money.
Before they left, they hugged their mother.
“Mom, we’re coming back.
‘If we succeed, you’ll be the first to get off our plane.”
Aling Teresa smiled, holding back tears.
“Don’t worry about me. What’s important is that you’re safe.”
And since then — she’s waited twenty years.
Twenty years of patience, prayer, and hope that one day, she’ll see the children she’s worked so hard to raise again.
THE DAY OF RETURN
One morning, there was a knock on the door of her small house.
When she opened it, two men in pilot uniforms were standing there — neat, muscular, and with smiles she’d never forget.
“Mom…” Marco said, his voice trembling.
“We’re here.”
She stared at them, almost in disbelief.
Both were wearing Philippine Airlines uniforms, carrying bouquets of flowers, and with tears in their eyes.
He hugged the two of them, sobbing.
“Son… is this really you?
I never thought I would see you like this again…”
Paolo smiled.
“Mom, didn’t you say before, you wanted to ride a plane at least once?
Now, you’re not just a passenger — you’re our special guest.”
THE DAY OF THE MIRACLE
The next day, they took Aling Teresa to the Ninoy Aquino International Airport.
As the children ushered her inside the plane, all the passengers were surprised.
Two pilots held the hand of an old woman —
and they bowed together.
“Passengers,” Marco said into the microphone,
“the woman we’re with today is not just our mother.
She’s the reason we’re here.
Every flight we take is dedicated to her.”
Paolo stood next to her, and they all smiled at each other.
“Today, the most beautiful woman in the world is not an actress or a rich woman —
but a mother who sold everything for her children to fly.”
The entire plane was filled with tears.
Some passengers applauded, some cried.
And Aling Teresa, crying while holding her children’s hands.
“Son… I have never regretted selling everything.
Because now, I feel like I am really rich — with you.”
THE FLIGHT OF LOVE
After the trip, they took her to a house near Tagaytay —
a house that was a gift from her two children.
“Mom, this is your new home.
You don’t have to sell or do laundry anymore.
From now on, you are our queen.”
Aling Teresa knelt down, crying on the ground.
“Lord, thank you.
All the pain, all the tears… it was really worth it.”
And as the sun set, the three of them embraced, the wind caressing their faces — like the embrace of a long-lost, but smiling, husband watching from the sky.
