Coming from different editions of the hit Kapamilya reality show Pinoy Big Brother (PBB), former housemates Argel Saycon from PBB Otso and Jas Dudley-Scales from PBB Gen 11 have developed a close friendship that fans have grown to love.

Known collectively as “ArJas,” the pair recently held an intimate fan meeting that delighted their supporters. The event, held on Saturday, April 12, was organized by their official fandom, which includes both individual fans and those who support their team-up.

“Para sa amin, itong event na ito ay para makapagpasalamat din po sa lahat ng sumusuporta sa amin, sa lahat ng nagship. Gusto ko lang magthank you,” Argel told PUSH ABS-CBN.

Jas added, “Yung plano nila (fans) is to have a celebration kas mag-almost 5 months na ang ArJas and they have been supporting us individually. This is our thank you also to them. Very grateful for them.”

Argel and Jas have actually known each other since 2018. Argel was already in showbiz, while Jas was then working for a fashion magazine. Argel is also a friend of Jas’s brother.

In a Kapamilya Chat interview, the two revealed they had casual conversations even before Argel found out Jas was entering the PBB house as a housemate.

After Jas’s exit from the show, Argel reached out to check on her, especially after the challenges and controversies she experienced during her stay. They reconnected more deeply at a Star Magic event, where fans took notice of their chemistry both online and in person.

Talking about their friendship, Argel and Jas shared that their casual messages and brief catch up became deeper and eventually formed into good friendship.

“Sabi ko nga sa Kapamilya Chat, steady lang,” Argel described his relationship with Jas.

Jas echoed the sentiment, saying, “We got closer din because we are now in the same world kasi we have been friends before. For now, more closer kasi isang mundo na lang yung iniikutan namin ngayon.”

One thing that deepened their connection is their shared passion for health and fitness. Jas revealed that Argel is actually her gym coach.

“Siya yung nagtuturo sa akin sa fitness journey. Siya yung coach ko,” she said.

When asked what they like about each other, Argel said he appreciates how caring Jas is. Jas, on the other hand, admires Argel’s “acts of service” personality.

“Sobrang caring niya,” Argel expressed.

“Ma-acts of service kasi siya so as an eldest daughter that’s something that makes me feel safe,” Jas shared.

Argel and Jas expressed their heartfelt gratitude to the fans who continue to support them.

“Thank you sa inyong lahat. Nakakagulat kasi ito. Thank you sa inyong lahat. Thank you sa pagsuporta sa kaniya (Jas), sa akin, sa amin and sana sa mga susunod na panahon nandyan pa rin kayo,” Argel stated.

Jas added, “Thank you kasi na-shock, nagulat kaming dalawa but it feels good na dalawang Bisaya in the world or in this industry is being supported. I think it’s something new na always nangyayari so we are very grateful.”

While there are no official joint projects yet, both Argel and Jas are focused on improving their craft.

“Focus kami ngayon sa acting workshop and siya yung sa basketball with Kuya Gerald (Anderson),” Jas shared.

She went on, “We are excited for what’s in store individually or may be together. Malalaman natin sa takdang panahon. Time will tell.”
