As Marco walked into the lobby, everyone bowed respectfully.
“Good morning, Sir Marco!”

Mang Carding moved to the far corner of the lobby near the elevator. He pulled his cap down to hide his face and turned his back, pretending to check the logbook.

Marco walked down the center—and suddenly stopped.

He noticed that all the guards were saluting, except one in the corner who had his back turned.

“Excuse me,” Marco said. His voice echoed through the silent lobby.

He pointed at Carding.

“You. The guard in the corner. Turn around.”

Mang Carding felt cold all over. I’m finished.

Employees whispered.

“Oh no, that guard is in trouble. So rude, turning his back.”
“He’ll probably get fired.”

Slowly, Mang Carding turned around. His head was bowed. His hand trembled as it held his cap.

“S-Sir… I’m sorry…” Carding whispered, unable to look his son in the eyes.

Marco walked closer. The sound of his shoes grew louder with every step.

He stopped right in front of Carding.

Everyone expected him to scold the guard.

But the entire building was shocked.

Suddenly, Marco took off his coat and threw it on the floor.

The billionaire CEO knelt on the dirty lobby floor.

He took Mang Carding’s rough, calloused hands and pressed them to his forehead—performing a gesture of deep respect.

“Pa…” Marco cried. “Why are you hiding?”

The crowd gasped. Pa?! His father?!

“Son…” tears streamed down Carding’s face. “I was ashamed… You’re a CEO now… I’m just a guard. They might laugh at you. I didn’t want you to be embarrassed in front of your people.”

Marco stood up and hugged his father tightly, not caring if his suit got dirty.

Marco then faced the stunned employees.

“Everyone, listen to me!” Marco shouted.

He put his arm around Mang Carding.

“Do you see this man? This security guard? He is the reason I’m standing here today.”

“When I was a child, we had nothing to eat, but he never abandoned me. He worked 16 hours a day, rain or shine, just to send me to school. The uniform he’s wearing… that badge… holds more value than my position as CEO.”

Marco looked straight into his father’s eyes.

“Pa, you are my hero. I will never, ever be ashamed that my father is a security guard. Because without your sacrifices, there would be no Marco today.”

“I am proud of you, Pa.”

Employees began to cry. Arrogant managers bowed their heads in shame.

The entire lobby erupted in applause—a thunderous ovation for the father and son.

“Sir Marco,” the HR Manager asked, “what shall we do with Mang Carding? Shall we promote him?”

Marco smiled.

“No,” he said. “Because he’s resigning today.”

“Pa,” Marco said gently, “your shift is over. For life. It’s my turn to work for you now. It’s time for you to rest and receive the life you truly deserve.”

Mang Carding removed his cap and badge. For the first time, he left the building not to open doors for others—but to ride home in his son’s car, heading toward their new mansion.
